Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited University College London (UCL) East, the university’s new state-of-the-art campus at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, where she saw groundbreaking research in areas including ecology, artificial intelligence, robotics, healthcare, and hydrogen technology.

As part of her visit, Her Royal Highness met with students and teachers from The Urswick School, one of UCL’s partner schools in Hackney. Our Year 12 Computer Science students, led by Mr Suleyman, were delighted to take part in an interactive session showcasing their work on an innovative project that combined robotics and biology.

The Princess Royal took time to engage with the students, discussing their experiences and the skills they were developing through this cutting-edge activity. She was delighted to hear how UCL undergraduate students visit The Urswick School regularly to work with Computer Science students, helping them broaden their understanding of the practical applications of computing. This ongoing partnership provides valuable opportunities for our students to engage with real-world technology and problem-solving, further enriching their learning experience.

We are immensely proud of our students for their participation in this prestigious occasion, which highlights the strong partnership between UCL and The Urswick School. This collaboration continues to provide enriching learning experiences, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
