LDBS Schools’ Service at St Paul’s Cathedral
A group of Urswick students, along with Mr Brown, Mr Aubrey and Ms Jobanputra attended this service at a packed St Paul’s Cathedral. We prayed and sang alongside Church of England Primary and Secondary Schools who are in the London Diocese.
The theme of the service was ‘Stewards of God’s Wonderful Creation’. Aashai, who designed our banner, and Bradley (both 7MIL) carried it through the cathedral. The readings were by two members of our Year 11 Student Leadership Team, Yasmin and Brandon. Their voices filled the dome of St Paul’s.
The service was led by the Bishop of London, and The Right Reverend Rob Wickham, Bishop of Edmonton (formerly Chair of Governors at Urswick and Rector of Hackney). Our spirits were raised and we returned happily to school.
Thanks to Richard Aubrey, School Chaplain, who co-ordinated the school’s part in the service.
